Otra Navidad

ENGLISH VERSION FOLLOWING THE SPANISH ONE. 

Este año celebramos por adelantado la navidad, debido a que uno de mis nietos y su esposa vinieron a pasar unos días aquí antes del mero día,  para  así poder celebrar también con sus otros familiares.  Comimos mucho, pero ya hicimos planes para alimentarnos sanamente... a partir del año nuevo.

Ayer tuvimos una pequeña tertulia en casa de una de mis hijas. Otra vez comimos "como paganos" y  también participamos en un excitante partido  de "Scrabble"  en el cual mi nieto y yo fuimos declarados vencedores.  Después  jugamos "Picking Apples" otro juego de salón muy divertido,  No estoy segura quien ganó. 

Hoy me la pasé comiendo sobras de los festines.  Muchas galletas, pero también ensaladas y verduras frescas para aplacar mi conciencia.  En la tarde ya cuando se estaba metiendo el sol, fui a caminar un rato. No hacía mucho frío, pero de algunas  casas emanaba el olor a pavo asado. ¡Qué horror!

Este año, más que  los anteriores, mucha gente decoró sus casas  con luces y monos inflables. la mayoría con Santa Clauses de tamaño descomunal.  Una casa vecina tiene como unos 25 santas, y además pingüinos y renos de madera, se ve un poco cargado, pero por lo menos la gente está de humor de arreglar sus casas.  Cada quien sus gustos, Cabe decir que se ve alegre el vecindario con todas esas luces.  

Y eso es todo por hoy.

This year we celebrate Christmas in advance because  one of my  grandsons  and his wife came to spend a few days here before the very day,  so they  could also celebrate  with the rest of their family.  We ate a lot, but  we all made plans to eat healthy ...starting in  the new year.

Yesterday we had a small gathering at the home of one of my daughters, again we ate" like pagans" and  we also had  what one of my grandsons called " a rousing game of  "Scrabble"  in which said grandson and I were declared winners. Later we  played another fun table game, " Picking Apples ", I'm not sure who won.

Today I spent all day eating leftovers from our festivities.  Lots  of cookies, but also salads and fresh vegetables to ease  my conscience. In  the afternoon  just before  sunset,  I went for a walk, it wasn't that cold, but the smell of roasting turkey emanated  from some of the houses  Horrible!

This year more than the previous ones, many people  decorated their houses with lights and inflatable figures  or dolls ( NOT monkeys, as Google translates "monos") most of them were humongous Santa Clauses.  A neighboring house  set  up about   25 santas, and also penguins and wooden reindeer. It is a bit on the heavy side, but at least they are in the mood to decorate, to each his own.  I must say that the neighbourhood looks festive with all those lights.
